The three-day Expo Logistica 2003 came and went last week in Mexico City, with the tough economic situation here and in the USA impacting on visitor and exhibitor attendances.
While the estimated attendance was healthy at 5000, considering it poured with rain, exhibitor numbers were down, with only 70% of the floor space occupied. But what the show lacked in numbers, it made up for in quality, with vibrant displays throughout the exhibition.
Forklift companies presenting at the show included Clark, Crown, Hyster, Nissan and Still. The best forklift stand by far was Raymond's. Notable absences were companies which have a marketing presence in Mexico, including Caterpillar, Daewoo, Komatsu, Linde, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Yale.
Also surprising, and contrary to last year, was that there were no tyre or battery companies exhibiting.
