US-headquartered Crown has opened its fifth materials handling equipment location in the United Kingdom with a sales and service centre in Lisburn, Ireland.

The new Irish location will offer the full Crown range including new and used forklifts, short-term rental trucks, energy solutions, spare parts and full-service programs. It will also act as the home base for the local team of engineers.

The Lisburn location helps to expand Crown’s presence in the UK with offices already established in Basingstoke, Birmingham, Scotland and Warrington.

Simon Barkworth, UK managing director at Crown Lift Trucks, says the opening of the Irish office is an exciting move.

“[It is] a further expansion of Crown Lift Trucks’ sales and service facilities, and we are especially pleased because it cements our presence in Northern Ireland,” Barkworth adds. 

“The Lisburn facility will provide convenient local access to Crown’s broad range of material handling products and services.”

Crown Equipment Corporation is this year celebrating its 80th anniversary, since being founded by brothers Carl and Allen Dickie in Ohio. It now has more than 500 retail locations in more than 80 countries.
