3PL Knowles Logistics goes electricUnited Kingdom third-party logistics provider, Knowles Logistics, says it has made a major step forward in its sustainability journey with the electrification of 87% of its 103-strong forklift fleet.
The 90 new CAT and Toyota forklifts are reportedly being supplied under a three-year lease agreement with Nottinghamshire-based, Impact Handling.
The equipment includes double handler forklifts, counterbalance forklifts and narrow-aisle forklifts.
“This investment reflects our long-term vision to operate as sustainably as possible while continuing to deliver exceptional service to our customers,” the company states.
Knowles Logistics managing director, Alex Knowles, says the long-term goal of the business is to operate a fully electric fleet across its sites.
“We are proud to be taking real, measurable steps towards net-zero operations,” Knowles adds.
“These forklifts not only reduce emissions but improve operational efficiency. The objective of operating 100% of MHE electric across all warehouse sites is now in close reach.”
