Impact's Terry Kendrew and Dechmont managing director Davey Forrest seal the deal

Impact Handling has further strengthened its UK coverage with the acquisition of leading West Lothian handling specialist Dechmont Forklift Trucks.

Dechmont will now represent Cat Lift Trucks, Konecranes heavy lift trucks, Rocla AGVs, Carer electric lift trucks and Spijkstaal tow tractors, alongside specialist brands Flexi, Combilift and Bulmor.

Terry Kendrew, managing director at Impact Handling, says: "Having worked closely with Dechmont over the last few years, developing their business into a very successful Cat dealership, it was a natural progression to fully integrate their operation with Impact. The acquisition means that we are now able to supply and service our customers across Scotland directly with our entire premium brand product portfolio.

"Dechmont's excellent facilities will also enable us to hold an extensive new equipment inventory alongside a comprehensive range of our latest short-term hire machines - all ready for immediate deployment across Scotland."

The existing senior management team will remain with the business at its purpose-built premises in Broxburn, just outside of Edinburgh, servicing customers along the M8 corridor - from Edinburgh to Glasgow - and onwards across Scotland.

Dechmont's customers will further benefit from access to Impact's fully approved refurbished equipment stock and its flexible in-house financing solutions.
