Raymond launches the iWObjectSense detection systemThe Raymond Corporation has launched its iWarehouse ObjectSense Detection & Notification System (iWObjectSense) which issues audible and visual alerts to forklift operators when obstructions are present.
The iWObjectSense system also features controlled slowdown and stopping functionalities, which Raymond says ensures operators remain in full control of forklifts “at all times”.
The detection system automatically adjust the detection field to lengthen or shorten it as needed for optimum performance and smoother deceleration when an object is identified.
Matt Curtis, Raymond’s product manager for Class II and iW.ObjectSense, says the system “acts as a training reinforcement tool” for forklift operators.
“[It] is designed to enhance secure, efficient and productive operations,” Curtis continues. “iW.ObjectSense can be both easily incorporated into existing Raymond fleet technology for immediate results and customised to meet the specific needs of operators, applications and facility layouts without infrastructure changes.”
Raymond Corporation is a subsidiary of Toyota and from April 1 will begin to operate under the same banner as Toyota Material Handling.
