About 400 exhibitors will showcase their products and services at CeMAT Asia 2010 next week.
China's international materials handling and logistics fair, CeMAT Asia 2010, will kick off at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre next week.

A total of 400 exhibitors occupying 28,500 sqm (306,772 sqft) of display space are expected to welcome 60,000 visitors from all over the world.

The global materials handling industry suffered losses in the economic downturn last year but the recovery in the global economy and materials handling market has resulted in increased Chinese demand for logistics imports, experts say.

Bolstered by the recovery, large corporations including Linde, Crown, Heli, Global Power, Isuzu, Kion Baoli, Global Friend, Ruyi, Nuoli, Zhongli, Zheli, Maximal, Goodsense, ABUS, SWUF, Toshiba, TEC, Muratec, Dematic and Swisslog have registered to exhibit.

CeMAT Asia will feature five themed display areas: forklifts and forklift accessories, pallet racking and cranes, transportation equipment, auto-ID and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

The auto-ID display area, which is running for the second time, will showcase RFID, intelligent card and other automated ID technologies. Over 30 exhibitors from the US, Japan, Singapore, China, Taiwan and Europe will participate in the special display.

With the support of industry associations, over 10 themed forums will be staged. Among them are Logistics & ICT 2010, Logistics Engineering Summit 2010 & 30th Anniversary of Logistics Engineering Institution of CMES, Forum on Warehouse Construction and Equipment Supply for Dangerous Cargo 2010, Shanghai RFID International Summit Forum and Logistics Risk Control Forum 2010.

CeMAT Asia organisers say they have also invited purchasing groups and VIP visitors from Russia, Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and South East Asia to the fair.

The trade show, held from 25-28 October, is supported by the Logistics Engineering Sub-council of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and Beijing Materials Handling Engineering and Research Institute.
