Toyota to merge Vanderlande and Bastian in Europe in US

In this week’s Forkliftaction News, we report on Hyster-Yale laying off staff in the US amid what it describes as “challenging market conditions”.

We also look at the founding of a new automated materials handling entity by Toyota Corporation which combines three global names across the US and Europe, while we check in on the US confidence index for the equipment finance sector.

There have been a number of noteworthy launches this week including a 65T lithium-ion, counterbalance forklift out of China, Bobcat’s new 3-wheel forklift and lithium-ion batteries, a rough-terrain empty container handler in India and a new articulated forklift brand for the New Zealand market.

We report on which AMR was named the winner of the International Federation of Robotics 2025 Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Robotics & Automation. Find out who.
