Heli names East African distributor

Busega-headquartered Double Q has been named as the official distributor for Heli through East Africa.

Founded in 2013 and specialising in automative parts and supplies, Double Q is also the East African distributor for Sinotruk, GWM Passenger Vehicles and XCMG’s full range of construction equipment.

Double Q has opened a Heli showroom in Busaga where it will showcase Heli’s range of forklifts and materials handling equipment.

Peter Li, Heli sales manager at Double Q, says of the opening of the showroom: "We aim to empower businesses with equipment that boosts productivity, safety and sustainability”.

“We are excited to support the growth of local industries with our world-class equipment,” Li adds.

Carolina Handling opens new South Carolina site

Carolina Handling, the exclusive Raymond Solutions and support centre for the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama and Florida’s central time zone, has opened its new 264,544 sqft. (24,577sqm), USD23.2 million warehouse and office facility in South Carolina.

The new Pickens County site consolidates the Upstate operations of the Charlotte-based intralogistics company, combining the warehouse and office space of four facilities under the one roof.

Carolina Handling president and CEO, Brent Hillabrand, says the new site is needed because of the growth the company has experienced in recent years. 

“The location in Pickens County, size and features of our new facility will position us for future growth as we continue our evolution from a forklift-only provider to an integrated material handling solutions company,” Hillabrand continues.

The new facility includes warehouse space to accommodate technician bays for new, rental and renewed equipment, as well as parts, distribution and logistics operations. 

The facility also includes training facilities and a Customer Experience Center, where visitors can explore integrated automation technologies and see live equipment demonstrations.

Around 100 new jobs are expected to be created at the site.
