Galicia, Spain
The main terminal at the Spanish Port of Vigo, Terminales Marítimas de Vigo, has ordered two hybrid Konecranes rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes as it works towards its ambitions of reducing its carbon footprint.
“Our investment in hybrid Konecranes RTGs aligns with our drive for more efficient and sustainable container handling,” says Román Davila González, associate director with terminal operator Termavi.
“These cranes cut emissions and reduce fuel consumption, and their advanced safety and automation features improve our productivity. We’re also leaving the door open to potential retrofitting for hydrogen power.”
Delivery of the RTGs is expected in Q4 2025.
