Impact Handling distributes Cat
Nottingham, United KingdomImpact Handling has been appointed Cat Lift Trucks' exclusive dealer for the UK market.
The company is one of the UK's leading independent materials handling groups with an annual turnover of GBP40 million (USD62.9 million). It has nine sales and service centres and over 120 mobile service engineers. It currently services over 6,000 trucks.
Komatsu appoints Ambassador
Milan, ItalyKomatsu Utility has appointed Essex-based Ambassador Lift Trucks as its exclusive UK importer. Ambassador will support existing Komatsu dealers in the UK and focus on boosting the company's marketshare by appointing new dealers.
The importer, which will also be responsible for sales, after-sales support and the supply of Komatsu spare parts to UK dealers, was appointed in 2008 to distribute Komatsu forklifts in Essex, Suffolk and East London

Linde China CEO receives award
Xiamen, ChinaLinde (China) CEO Chingpong Quek has received the Xiamen Egret Friendship Award at a ceremony held by the Xiamen Municipal Government.
Singapore-born Quek was one of seven expatriates to receive the award, which was established in 2004. He was honoured for his efforts in boosting the Chinese materials handling industry, and helping the government promote Xiamen and attract foreign investment to the city.
Twenty-two expatriates have received the award so far.
Nissan introduces robust pack
Amsterdam, the NetherlandsNissan Forklift Europe has launched the Eco-X robust pack for its DX forklift series.
Designed to resist the impact of harsh environments, the pack consists of the latest technology in high output LED lights, reinforced overhead guard pillars, a transmission interlock to prevent excessive wear, a wide-angle panoramic mirror, "high comfort" seat and an embossed metal floorboard.
The pack is suitable for rental trucks that are often returned with considerable damage.
MHIA allocates space for MODEX 2012
Charlotte, NC, United StatesMaterial Handling Industry of America (MHIA) will allocate exhibition space for MODEX 2012 on 14 December at the Georgia World Congress Centre in Atlanta. The trade show under the tagline "Solutions That Move Supply Chains" will occur almost 14 months later ─ 6-9 February 2012 ─ in the same venue. MODEX 2012, with a format similar to Charlotte-based MHIA's ProMat event in Chicago, aims to focus on the offerings of materials handling and logistics equipment, systems and software solution providers; third party logistics providers; supply chain solution providers and consultants; systems integrators; sustainable facility and alternative fuel solutions providers; and packaging and unitising solutions providers.
TOC Americas includes equipment, sensor makers
Rio de Janeiro, BrazilNacco Materials Handling Group Brasil Ltda (Hyster), Konecranes Plc, Cargotec Corp and Sick AG are among companies planning to exhibit at TOC Americas 2010 from 9-11 November at the InterContinental Hotel and Resort in Rio de Janeiro.
Informa UK Limited's London-based TOC Events Worldwide organisation holds globally dispersed trade events and conferences for terminal operators, port solution providers and shipping lines. Upcoming during 2011 are TOC Asia from 15-17 March in Tianjin, China and TOC Europe from 7-9 June in Antwerp, Belgium. A market briefing in the Middle East occurred 20-21 September in Muscat, Oman.
