EnerSys previewed the new EnForcer IMPAQ modular charger product line at Modex.
The high-frequency modular charger is claimed to offer intelligent charging "with advanced efficiency and the flexibility to maintain peak efficiency at all times". Modules can be automatically switched on and off based on charge cycle requirements and, should a module develop a minor fault, the charger bypasses it for continued operation and to continue the charging process.
Marketing director Steve Spaar says the modular charger complies with the latest global standards, including California Energy Commission appliance efficiency standards.

VAC launched at Modex

ID Systems Inc introduced its 4th generation Vehicle Asset Communicator (VAC) at the Modex expo in Atlanta last week.
The company describes VAC as an "intelligent, highly configurable, RFID-based, vehicle-mounted computer" that forms the backbone of ID Systems' wireless vehicle management systems (VMS) for forklifts and other industrial vehicles. A wireless VMS helps reduce fleet maintenance costs by automatically uploading vehicle data, reporting vehicle problems electronically, scheduling maintenance according to actual usage, and helping determine the optimal time for replacing equipment.?

Philadelphia Scientific adds to line

Philadelphia Scientific has introduced iBOS Lite, the latest addition to the company's line of intelligent battery room management systems.
The firm says the iBOS system has improved efficiency and reduces costs for large forklift fleet operators. IBOS Lite is targeted at managers of smaller battery fleets.
IBOS Lite has a blue LED to indicate to industrial forklift operators which battery is fully charged and cooled down the most and therefore best to select. The manufacturer claims iBOS Lite is easier to use than other battery room management systems and a cost-competitive solution, typically paying for itself in a few months.
