The 2005 International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE), held from September 27 to September 29 at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Centre in Louisville, Kentucky, attracted the highest attendance in the show's 41-year history.
About 16,400 industry professionals visited the show, also known as the Demo Expo, which featured more than 800 exhibitors in 1.1 million net square feet of exhibition space. This year's attendance was 20 per cent higher than the last show in 2003.
Attendees viewed displays of the latest equipment technology and product innovations and operated equipment in demonstrations simulating real-life working conditions.
More than five per cent were international visitors from 40 countries. ICUEE targeted electric, sewer/water, phone/cable, gas, general construction, government and landscaping industry professionals.
In an underground construction technology educational program, industry experts examined the latest trends and issues impacting the utility and construction industry.
Among materials handling companies that exhibited were Terex Corp, Genie Industries, JCB, Atlas Copco, Bobcat, Palfinger and Caterpillar Inc. The show is owned and produced by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
