Automation continues to lead the news at Forkliftaction, with a number of leading brands unveiling new product offerings, and a wave of automation providers announcing strategic partnerships, expansions and facility openings. In November

Linde Material Handling unveils its Robotic Case Picker (RoCaP) for autonomous order picking at its Automation Summit in Germany. The RoCaP has undergone successful testing with European drugstore chain Dirk Rossmann.

Macrovey enters a new agreement with CaPow. Under the partnership, CaPow’s Power-in-Motion energy transfer system will be adopted into Macrovey’s automation systems to extend battery lifespan, eliminate idle time and reduce the need for charging zones.

Jungheinrich subsidiary Storage Solutions acquires Invar, an Atlanta-headquartered warehouse and order fulfilment specialist. The strategic move aligns with Jungheinrich’s Strategy 2030+ goals to invest heavily in automation solutions and expand its US footprint.

SK AX completes the automation process at a US auto parts production plant with the deployment of unmanned forklifts (AFR) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), which will be used to stabilise the company’s logistics flow.

Indian company Humro receives an INR4.13 million (USD466,000) order from a major United States-based logistics company for its new Atlas AC2000 autonomous forklift. The Atlas AC2000 underwent three months of successful testing at the unnamed client’s site.

Dematic expands its range of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) with the release of its reach truck series (RTS) 120. The company says the AGV offers “a direct path to automation” for operations already using manual reach trucks.

CeMAT Asia wrap-up report: Automation took centre stage at the recent CeMAT event in Shanghai. Forkliftaction covers some of the key products launched at the show.

In October 

Dematic prepares to deliver a greenfield automated intralogistics solution to car parts supplier and distributor CoolDrive Auto Parts, which will see three existing locations combined into one. 

Kardex opens its new Australian office at the Lidcombe Business Park in Sydney with the ceremony including Swiss alphorn players and demonstrations in the showroom at the site.

A new partnership between AMR specialists Robotize, and robotics company Nord Modules, sees the launch of an autonomous mobile robot (AMR), the GoPal P35, which can pick up, transport and deliver payloads from conveyors, lifters and workstations.

Exotec celebrates the deployment of its 10,000th Skypod robot globally. The company says the robots have completed over 938 million cycles, and saved more than 90 million kilometres of walking for warehouse operators, the equivalent of 119 return trips to the moon.

ABB sells its robotics division to Japanese investment company SoftBank for USD5.38 billion, abandoning plans to spin off the business as a separately listed entity. ABB confirms it expects the deal to be finalised by mid to late-2026.

Patrick Terminals in Australia orders 14 hybrid automated straddle carriers from Kalmar for its Sydney AutoStrad terminal. The new AutoStrads join 10 hybrid units ordered by Patrick Terminals in October 2020.

The World Robotics 2025 Service Robots report by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) reveals the transportation and logistics sector is now the largest user of service robots globally, accounting for 52% of professional-use robots being utilised.

Movers & Shakers: US autonomous vehicle developer, Cyngn, announces the appointment of Natalie Russell as its chief financial officer. 

LiBiao Robotics opens an office in New Jersey, establishing its presence in the United States. The site will function as a central node for sales, technical support, and collaborative research and development in North America.

City Logistics chooses Fortna to deliver a state-of-the-art materials handling and sorting system for its Johannesburg distribution centre. Fortna says the new solution will be capable of handling both standard parcels and non-conveyable materials.
