Execs from Jungheinrich, Invar and Storage SolutionsJungheinrich subsidiary Storage Solutions, has acquired Atlanta-headquartered warehouse and order fulfilment specialists, Invar, as part of Jungheinrich’s Strategy 2030+ which targets investment in automation solutions and the expansion of the US business.
Storage Solutions says the acquisition of Invar, which has a strong focus on automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) in the North American market, is a strategic step for the business.
“The combined expertise of both companies enables the efficient and scalable delivery of customised automation solutions,” Storage Solutions states.
“With a clear focus on mobile AS/RS, the integration positions Jungheinrich as one of the leading integrators in this segment in North America and beyond.”
Storage Solutions will expand its operational footprint with the acquisition, picking up two new locations in Atlanta, Georgia and Erlanger, Kentucky.
Lars Brzoska, Jungheinrich’s chairman of the board of management, adds: “Automation is one of the fastest-growing segments in material handling, and mobile AS/RS solutions are at the forefront of that growth”.
