Kalmar launches new reach stacker
Stockholm, SwedenKalmar has launched a new Gloria reach stacker specifically designed for empty and semi-laden container handling.
The DRG100 is the latest addition to Kalmar's Gloria range of reach stackers and can handle all types of containers, flat racks and single loads of up to 10 T.
The DRG100-S6 stacks six containers high in the first row while the DRG100-S8 has the capacity to stack containers eight high in the second row.
Sales and marketing director Stefan Johansson says after the popularity of the Gloria range, it was strategically important for Kalmar to develop a new reach stacker specifically for empty and semi-laden container handling. "With customers now demanding higher productivity and versatility from their equipment, whilst also looking at ways to significantly reduce the costs of ownership, the time is exactly right to introduce this machine."
Linde system to boost handling capacity
Wiesbaden, GermanyLinde Material Handling is releasing a new operator-assist system for reach trucks. The system is now completing its final field test phase and will be available for the Linde R14 - R20 reach truck series.
"The market trend for ever higher storage racks in warehouses and distribution centres is continuing apace," explains head of reach trucks Alexander Schmidt. "This means that there is an increasing demand for reach trucks with lift heights of over 8 m (26 ft.). While only 38% of all Linde reach trucks sold in 2005 were designed for such heights, this increased to 52% last year."
The sensor-controlled Dyanamic Mast Control assistance system that Linde MH is releasing at the end of March is expected to significantly boost handling capacity and safety.
