Hyster enhances reach stacker
Nijmegen, The NetherlandsHyster has made further upgrades to its reach stacker line to cut lifetime costs for ports and terminals experiencing increased container throughput.
"More than 25% fuel savings, which could be more than 4 litres per hour, can be achieved with the new Hyster reach stacker when compared to our Stage IIIA 2010 trucks and many of our competitor models," says product strategy manager Jan Willem. The new machines feature the new Cummins QSL9 engine and other technologies to meet the Stage IV/Tier 4 final (T4f) emissions legislation. Hyster says it has used heavy EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) combined with SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and a diesel oxidation catalyst to achieve Stage IV/T4f compliance. This has resulted in about 96% fewer particles (soot) and 94% less nitrogen oxides compared to Stage IIIA/T3 equivalents before 2005.

Chevin adds cross-border fleet KPIs
Derbyshire, UKChevin Fleet Solutions has introduced a set of standard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that work for fleet operations anywhere in the world. Incorporated into Chevin's FleetWave fleet management software, standard KPIs can be utilised by global organisations that need to manage vehicle fleets across business units located in different countries.
This feature enables performance measurements such as fuel and mileage KPIs to be automatically converted from miles per gallon in countries that use imperial measurements to kilometres per litre in nations that use the metric system.
