Kalmar has launched its second generation lithium-ion battery technology for its counter-balance equipment portfolio including its forklifts, reachstackers and empty container handlers.
The Finnish equipment maker says the new battery features advanced cell chemistry which extends its life cycle and has been developed to meet increased demand for sustainable cargo handling solutions.
Kalmar’s VP counter balanced product line, Peter Berndtson, says the second generation battery “is a major step forward in helping our customers transition to fully electric fleets without compromising performance”.

Hyster's SC1.2 pallet stacker
Hyster has launched its new lithium-ion powered Hyster SC1.2 pallet stacker, which has a lifting capacity of 1,200kg.
The Hyster SC1.2 stacker also features an onboard charger for adaptable plug-in charging for the 60Ah lithium-ion battery, an adjustable balance wheel for improved manoeuvrability and stability and a durable mast design.
Martina Zolezzi, Hyster’s regional product manager adds: “The proportional lifting feature on the SC1.2 stacker enables operators to work accurately, while also reducing noise, and truck wear and tear”.

Interfit acquires Chicago's ITS
Materials handling tyre and wheel services provider, Interfit, says it has strengthened its North American footprint with the acquisition of DBA Industrial Tire Solutions (ITS) in Illinois.
Headquartered in Chicago, ITS is a tyre and service provider for the materials handling sector, servicing the Chicago area.
“The acquisition of ITS marks a new chapter in our expansion journey,” says Robert Renfrew, regional Interfit director U.S. & Canada. “The U.S. is a critical market for our industry, and we’re proud to strengthen our local presence with a trusted partner.”
