 Raymond Model 6210 |
It's been a big month for walkies, with new offerings from at least three manufacturers.
The
Raymond Corporation has introduced the new AC electric Raymond Model 6210 walkie straddle stacker truck.
Designed for retail backrooms and manufacturing plants, it navigates easily in tight spaces, including aisles as narrow as 78 in. (198 cm).
It also can load and unload pallets from the back or side of trailers for applications without a dock; move pallets from dock to stock and ergonomically position loads at waist height to reduce operator bending and lifting in manufacturing or retail applications.
The model boasts Raymond's Click2Creep technology which automatically reduces travel speed and Raymond's ACR System technology and static torque control for enhanced speed control.
UniCarriers, meanwhile, has announced the Platinum RPX series of walkie/rider pallet trucks.
 Platinum RPX |
The 5.2 hp. (3.87 kw) AC-powered RPX series walkie/rider pallet truck is available in 6,000 lb. (2,700 kg) and 8,000 lb. (3,600 kg) capacities, and is ideal for manufacturing, grocery and various warehousing operations.
The RPX's fork design features UniCarriers' unique, push-type linkage and rugged tie rods to absorb high impact shocks caused by uneven floors, while alloy steel fork slides facilitate pallet entry and exit, eliminating the need for costly replacement of entry rollers and discs. An optional automatic fork leveler feature prevents fork dragging and costly maintenance expenses that may result.
Standard equipment includes sealed switches, thermal cut-back and shut-down, an epoxy-coated control board, and IP65-rated sealed controller - allowing it to operate across a variety of environments, from general ambient temperature warehouses, to wet rooms and even freezers.
Separately,
Toyota Industrial Equipment has introduced a new 4,500 lb. (1,800 kg) walkie electric pallet jack and new 2,000 lb. (907 kg) and 2,500 lb. (1,133 kg) walkie straddle stackers made for delivery, retail, warehouse and narrow-aisle customers. The improved products are designed for delivery, trailer loading and unloading, retail stores and small specialised areas within a larger facility. The new products are designed to help keep costs down and help businesses stay running and productive.
 Toyota's new walkie |
Toyota's new models are IP65-rated to help protect against dust and liquids, including low-pressure water streams from all directions, and the handle heads are sealed and weather-tested.
The AC drive motor provides smoother acceleration and plugging, increased performance during regenerative braking and more efficient power to the drive wheel.
All three new models include "no tools required" service covers for better serviceability and less time spent performing routine maintenance and inspections.
The battery pack on Toyota's new walkie pallet jack and walkie stackers received nine improvements to make it stronger, last longer and charge faster.
All of the new models are available for order in North America.
