Ubisense and Daifuku launch warehouse system
Cambridge, United KingdomUbisense Group plc and Daifuku Corp have launched a smart warehouse area management system they developed together.
The system is designed to improve personnel safety in warehouse and distribution centres, especially those using forklifts and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in high-speed vehicle systems. It can measure in real time the position of a distribution centre operator relative to that of forklifts and AGVs in order to control the operational speed of the vehicle and avoid accidents.
GRENDIA "most cost-effective"
Reading, United KingdomMitsubishi Forklift Trucks claims the new LPG version of its 1.5-3.5 T GRENDIA ES range could be the most cost-effective IC engine counterbalance truck ever built.
The truck is claimed to have fuel consumption that is 40% lower than its leading competitors. Mitsubishi says savings in maintenance as well as reduced tyre and brake wear are what drives home the firm's claim that it is the "world's cheapest truck to own and run".
UniCarriers adds new features
Marengo, IL, United StatesUniCarriers Americas has made LED headlights standard on Nissan Forklift by UniCarriers Platinum II and GO4 series forklifts, replacing the halogen headlights on these models.
The LED headlights were a popular option on the Platinum II and GO4 truck orders as they are "more durable, offer greater visibility, deliver a longer service life and are suited to high-vibration applications".
Toyota offers specialty models
Columbus, IN, United StatesToyota Material Handling USA (TMHU) has enhanced its hand pallet truck offering. It now offers 10 specialty models ranging from an ultra-low profile to a heavy-duty load capacity option.
The range is suitable for general warehousing and storage, retail operations and third-party logistics providers, including food and beverage suppliers.
