Straightpoint has added Alex Hopper to its inside sales team. Hopper, who will be based at the company's Havant, Hampshire facility, joins Lauren Johnson, sales and customer support executive, in the inside sales team, and reports to David Ayling, global business development director for load monitoring solutions. She will principally be responsible for quoting customers for new goods, repairs and calibrations, in addition to dealing with queries from the sales team.

Hoppecke Industrial Batteries has announced the appointment of three new senior sales executives as managing director Jon Bailey commits to continued growth in the UK.
Steve Beeston joins the business as key account manager, UK and Europe, while Judith Merricks and Gareth McCorkell are appointed as account managers for the firm's motive power division.
Beeston has previously worked for Hoppecke. During seven years with the business, he started out in the workshop before moving into sales. During the past two years, he has been making his mark in a senior sales role elsewhere in the industry.
Gareth McCorkell also began his career in a technical role with the company. Having worked as a field engineer for four years, this appointment recognises the value of his expertise with a promotion and a move into sales.
Judith Merricks worked at IBCS Ltd, most recently as sales account manager for the Midlands, where she capitalised on more than 16 years' experience in dealing with blue chip companies and small businesses to build strong relationships with key decision makers. Prior to this, she worked in business development roles in medical consumables and ran her own business for 10 years.

UniCarriers Americas has announced the promotion of Mark Manninen to the position of vice president, sales and marketing. Manninen, a 28-year company veteran, was most recently senior director, retail operations and acquisitions for UCA. In addition, Manninen was also president of New England Industrial Truck and Capital Equipment & Handling, the two company-owned forklift dealerships.
To drive sales and new business development, Manninen plans to focus on key areas of company performance, including dealer engagement, customer satisfaction, channel management and marketing strategies.
In his new position, Manninen will oversee an expanding range of UCA sales and marketing initiatives, including the company's move into advanced automated guided vehicle systems as part of its UniCarriers System Solutions offerings.
