STILL presents iGoEasy
Hamburg, GermanySTILL has introduced the iGoEasy system that allows users to automate simple transport tasks independently.
Consisting of an automated EGV-S 14/20 pedestrian high-lift stacker, reflectors, an on-board computer and an iPad, iPad mini or iPod touch, which is used as a control unit, the iGoEasy system was designed for applications that involve low transport volumes where handling goods with a manually operated pallet truck was the only sensible solution in the past.
STILL is also combining its portfolio of automated solutions under the name STILL iGo.
Jungheinrich launches driverless transport
Stuttgart, GermanyJungheinrich unveiled its EKS 210a Auto Pallet Mover (APM) at the LogiMAT 2013 expo in Stuttgart last week.
The automated order picker can be employed "for any kind of standardised transport operation", says Dr Martin Schwaiger, head of APM at Jungheinrich.
The transport system has been designed mainly to perform recurring transport assignments like moving items from incoming goods or from the production line to a specified transport system.
Transmon showcases iTEch
Birmingham, United KingdomTransmon Engineering is exhibiting its new iTEch range of forklift safety systems, which includes pedestrian alerts, reversing alerts and zone speed control systems at IMHX 2013 on 19-22 March.
Transmon's Paul Sercombe says that while the systems help companies reduce costs and boost efficiency and safety, all the devices must be used in addition to "correct driver and pedestrian training".
Toyota's new electric forklift
Stuttgart, GermanyToyota Material Handling Europe has given a sneak preview of its Toyota Traigo 80-volt electric forklift at the LogiMAT 2013 expo in Stuttgart.
Boasting improvements over its predecessor, the Traigo 80 electric counterbalance forklift features Toyota's System of Active Stability, has "clearer through-mast visibility and maximum speed paired with better energy efficiency".
Crown's reach truck receives Good Design award
New Bremen, OH, United StatesThe RM 6000 Series reach truck from Crown Equipment Corp of New Bremen received a Good Design award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies. The product was entered in the industrial category and was recognised for "outstanding aesthetics and innovative design". The RM 6000 pantograph truck can reach 505 in. (12.8 m) and has a system that can raise the tines at a pace of 160 ft. (4.9 m) per minute. Earlier, the RM 6000 received a gold International Design Excellence Award and a Core 77 design award.
