Doosan hosts forum
Edinburgh, ScotlandDoosan's recent Doosan Global Business Forum attracted high-level participants including former British prime minister Gordon Brown; Gene Sperling, former director of the US National Economic Council; Justin Yifu Lin, former senior vice president of the World Bank; Shri Rajiv Mehrishi, secretary of the ministry of finance, India; and Amitabh Kant, secretary of the ministry of commerce and industry, India.
Prominent speakers included Joan Ogden, professor at the University of California, Davis and a specialist in the economics of hydrogen and alternative energy technology; and Gita Gopinath, professor of economics at Harvard University.
Founded in 2012, the Doosan Global Business Forum has become an annual event where global leaders, prominent economists and CEOs of global enterprises gather to gain valuable insights into the world economy as well as the latest technology innovation trends.
Second Crown facility honoured
New Bremen, OH, United StatesCrown Equipment Corporation recently received its second gold-level award in the Ohio EPA's Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) program. The award recognises outstanding environmental stewardship at Crown's electronics assembly plant in New Bremen, Ohio, where Ohio EPA assistant director Laura Factor took part in a ceremony celebrating the achievement.
The company's New Knoxville plant was the first facility in the state to receive the award last year. The most recent gold-level award recognises Crown's electronics assembly plant's environmental management system and sustainability efforts, which helped the facility achieve ISO 14001 compliance and zero-landfill status.
New Jervis B. Webb training
Farmington Hills, MI, United States Jervis B. Webb Company has announced a new training program to teach customers how to maintain and modify their SmartCart Automatic Guided Cart (AGC) systems without outside assistance. Currently, three courses are being offered as part of the Smart Handling University (SHU) program, with several more planned for the near future.
"One of the main benefits of our SmartCart AGCs is how easy they are to program and operate. Our SHU training program will teach customers how to care for and control their systems on their own," says Rob Schmit, president of Jervis B. Webb Company. "Taking these training courses will help reduce maintenance costs for our customers who are always looking to improve their knowledge about their SmartCart systems."
Courses run two to three days and include hands-on training. They are designed for technicians, maintenance workers and engineers and are held at Daifuku North America's demonstration facility in Wixom, Michigan.
