RX revamped for better performance
Hamburg, Germany

The RX20 counterbalanced electric forklift, one of the first series production trucks in STILL's silver-orange design family, has been comprehensively re-engineered.
While the truck's design remains, STILL says new technologies offer "higher goods handling performance, good ramp-climbing ability and top speeds of up to 20 km/h (12.4 mi/h) and improved energy efficiency".
According to STILL, counterbalanced electric forklift trucks are enjoying increasing popularity, especially in Germany, Central and Western Europe. Tightened emission guidelines, rising energy prices and environmental awareness, as well as improved use of battery capacity through more energy-efficient technologies, are a few of the reasons for the success.
The RX 20 with load capacities of 1.4 to 2.0 T is the top selling forklift in STILL's entire RX family. When introduced in 2005, STILL says it set new standards for its forklift class, "due mainly to its sideways battery change, achieved for the first time in series production, and through its high energy efficiency and user-friendliness".

Pick and mix options improve safety
Leicester, United Kingdom

Transmon Engineering claims its new range of iTEch 'pick and mix' options can boost safety and cut overall cost for materials handling operations.
"The iTEch range has been designed to be integrated across the product range and Transmon customers can 'pick and choose' products in a modular way," says sales manager Pete Boettcher. "Existing systems already active in their operations can be combined with the new systems and managed with new technology, helping to reduce the cost for the customer while adding more benefits to the operation."
Transmon safety systems include speed limiting systems, a pedestrian awareness system and a camera system.

Manitou shows off at expo
Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Manitou displayed the latest in its range of telescopic access platforms and the Gehl R series compact loaders at the APEX exhibition for elevating platforms in Amsterdam last month.
For over 20 years, Manitou has been developing a range of self-propelled access platforms, both articulated (ATJ range) and vertical (VJR), aimed at its European customers.
Adapted for a wide range of applications, the articulated access platforms are available with different engine types, internal combustion (ATJ) or electric (AETJ), according to whether they are used inside or outside.
Manitou claims it is now a major player in the access platforms market, particularly in Europe, and is continuing its strategy for the accelerated development of the business.
