Crown adds narrow chassis truck

Crown Equipment's latest addition to its RM 6000 series reach trucks, a 42-in. (1 m) chassis truck, is the latest electric truck to be qualified in Crown's fuel cell program.
The fuel cell-powered forklift features fuel cell controls and gauges integrated into its dashboard, and has programmable performance settings and advanced diagnostics for the fuel cell power unit.
Crown says the RM series is designed with a boxed-in cross-section mast to reduce twisting and flexing associated with dual, upright, conventional masts.

Cascade's new and improved DTI

Cascade Corp has dropped the price of its new and improved digital tilt indicator (DTI).
Besides being 30% cheaper, improvements from its predecessor include "better performance, enhanced ability to target the 'green zone' and reduced tendency to flicker when changing colours". (The green zone is the LED light that burns when the mast or attachment is vertical to the ground after calibration.)
The device is used on forklifts that have forks, paper roll clamps, carton clamps, layer picker, multiple load handlers or any application where aligning the forklift's mast to a certain angle is important.

Johnson Electric expands line

Johnson Electric has launched the V3NS micro-switch, designed under the Burgess brand, for forklift braking applications.
The switch expands Johnson Electric's materials handling switch portfolio, which covers all switch applications in forklifts, including switches for tiller head and seat interlock functions; brake light and stop brake functions; and emergency-stop switches for dashboard and remote control applications.
The Hong Kong-headquartered company says the switch performs well under severe operating conditions like cement dust, extreme temperatures, high vibration and shock, salt spray and wet environments.

Heli's hybrid forklift

Heli has launched its 7 T hybrid forklift at the 11th Beijing International Construction Machinery Exhibition & Seminar.
Heli claims the battery-capacitor hybrid forklift has the largest capacity of hybrid forklifts in China. It says the lead-acid battery and super capacitor-driven forklift is also a first for the Chinese forklift industry.
Spokesman Li Hao says the forklift will be on the market by early 2012.
