The organisers of ProMat 2027 have held the biggest space draw ever conducted for the biennial event held in Chicago with 930 exhibitors reserving a record 977 booths.
The draw means 94% of the ProMat 2027 show floor space has now been reserved for the April 19-21, 2027 event.
John Paxton, chief executive officer of event organiser, industry body MHI, says: “The record success of the ProMat 2027 exhibit space draw is a clear indicator that MHI members have a positive economic outlook for 2026 and beyond”.
ProMat is expected to attracted more than 1,000 exhibitors from the materials handling and logistics sectors.

Wolter Inc expands into the Carolinas
Wisconsin-headquartered Wolter Inc, a US-based provider of materials handling solutions, has expanded into operations into the Carolinas with the acquisition of Carson Industries.
Carson Industries includes Carson Material Handling, Carson Dock and Door, J&J Forklift Services and Pinnacle Lift Systems.
The acquisition gives Wolter four new locations - Raleigh, Charlotte, and Greensboro in North Carolina, and Greenville in South Carolina.
"The addition of Carson Industries marks an important milestone in Wolter's continued growth," says Jerry Weidmann, CEO of Wolter Inc. "By joining forces, we will deliver comprehensive, end-to-end material handling solutions and raise the bar for service excellence across the Southeast.”
Carson Industries has operated across North and South Carolina for more than two decades, providing new and used forklifts and materials handling equipment.
Houston scholarship opens for applications

The annual Cat Lift Truck scholarship is accepting applications
Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas has opened applications for its 22nd Annual Cat Lift Truck Scholarship Program open to a Houston-area high school senior who has done exceptionally well and wants ti pursue a four-year degree related to materials handling.
The scholarship from Mitsubishi Logisnext, the exclusive manufacturer of Cat forklifts, will see the winner receive USD5,000 towards their education.
The scholarship launched in 2005 and has seen USD150,000 awarded to 29 students towards their further education.
Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas says past recipients have gone on to enrol in Texas universities and colleges, including Texas A&M University, The University of Texas at Austin, University of Houston, and Texas State Technical College, pursuing degrees in diverse fields, such as mechanical and chemical engineering, welding technology, and entrepreneurship.
Selection criteria for the scholarship includes academic performance, community service involvement, leadership abilities and financial need.
Applications close January 23, 2026 and the winner will be named in March.
