Komatsu extends aid
Tokyo, JapanKomatsu Group will offer additional assistance to the reconstruction of areas affected by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 11 March 2011.
The group has loaned construction equipment, forklifts, temporary housing units, power equipment and other equipment to the efforts and anticipates further requests for equipment from the municipal governments.
The extra assistance worth about JPY800 million (USD10.1 million) will bring the group's total assistance value to JPY2.4 billion (USD30.1 million).
FEM guides available
Brussels, BelgiumThe European Materials Handling Federation (FEM) market surveillance guides are now available in German and Italian.
They assess equipment compliance with a variety of EU regulatory requirements. The Spanish translation was released earlier and translation of the guides into other languages is ongoing

STILL campaign wins award
Hamburg, GermanySTILL GmbH's campaign to promote the STILL cubeXX has been honoured with the German Award for Business Communication.
The modular concept car, STILL cubeXX, is based on a study that researched the future requirements of the intralogistics industry. The vehicle combines the functions of six different classes of industrial trucks and a touchscreen "transforms" the machine into the desired condition, a "novelty" in intralogistics.
Konecranes cabin receives prize
Helsinki, FinlandKonecranes' 'smarter cabin', launched in 2011, has received the 2012 Fennia Prize.
The cabin, designed with customer feedback, provides crane operators with "an ergonomic and comfortable workplace, with improved visibility of the work area". Besides design the evaluation criteria included usability, environmental and social responsibility and impact on business.
