JLG releases new telehandler

McConnellsburg, PA, United States

US-based manufacturer of telehandlers and mobile elevating work platforms, JLG Industries, has launched its R13100 rotating telehandler, an update of its predecessor the R11100.

JLG, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation, says the new R13100 model now leads its rotating telehandler family with 13,200 lbs. (5,987kg) capacity and a maximum lift height of 97 ft. (30m).

It shares a near identical base configuration as the R1370 and R1385 models, which JLG says offers consistency across its line, and is powered by a 134 hp diesel engine.

The new telehandler includes a number of upgraded features including JLG’s two-way fleet management and communication platform, ClearSky Smart Fleet Standard, a redesigned counterweight with integrated lights for visibility, as well as a new integrated remote-control mount and optimised joystick controls.

Indian terminal orders 30 RTGs

Konecranes sells 30 hybrid RTGs to an Indian terminal

An unnamed Indian container terminal has ordered 30 rubber-tyred gantry (RTGs) cranes from Konecranes which are scheduled for delivery in Q1 2027.

The RTGs will be used at a greenfield site for the leading Indian company and will run entirely on onboard batteries charged by grid electricity, designed to ensure efficient energy consumption and zero tailpipe emissions.

Konecranes says the RTGs will be fitted with its E-Hybrid technology, with the new container terminal choosing a busbar-and-battery configuration, where the batteries are charged dynamically by the busbar power supply based on need during operation.

Konecranes' says the technology reduces peak power demand to only 60 kW per RTG, compared with up to 400 kW for traditional electric RTGs.

“We’re demonstrating to the wider container handling industry that large terminals can now launch with fully electric operations, even if their grid supply is unreliable,” says Shyam Pathak, sales director, port solutions, Konecranes.
