 Toyota Material Handling wins iF Gold Award for BT Optio L-series |
Low-level order picker wins award
Munich, GermanyToyota Material Handling's BT Optio L became the third truck in Toyota's range to win the iF award at BMW World in Munich this month.
The BT Levio pallet truck and Toyota Traigo 48 electric counterbalance forklift received the recognition in 2009.
The BT Optio L-series, which won the iF Gold Award, excelled in all of the categories judged - quality design, choice of materials, safety, durability, ergonomics and low environmental impact.
Taiwanese truck recognised
Taipei, TaiwanThe Tailift Z2000 forklift has been awarded the 2011 Taiwan Excellence Award.
The award was organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Tailift claims its Z series electric forklift offers "great performance and ergonomics, operator comfort and safety, value for the customer and is environment-friendly".
Nissan announces winners
Marengo, IL, United StatesNissan Forklift Corp has announced its Pinnacle Sales and Emeritus Award winners for 2011.
Chad Lentz won the 2011 Pinnacle Sales Award. Lentz is the Fargo, North Dakota branch manager of Forklifts of Minnesota in Bloomington, Minnesota. He started working at the dealership as a mechanic about 20 years ago.
Brett Levin was also honoured as the 2011 Pinnacle Emeritus Award winner. Levin is the sales manager for new and used equipment at Material Handling Supply Inc.in Brooklawn, New Jersey. He started with the company as a shop technician 15 years ago.
Hybrid fleet for Kühne + Nagel
Hamburg, GermanyStill GmbH has handed over 20 state-of-the-art RX 70 hybrid rental trucks to Kühne + Nagel, making it the first German forwarder to operate a Still hybrid forklift fleet at trade fairs.
The trucks will operate at fairs in Munich, Nuremberg, Hanover, Cologne and Düsseldorf.
"It is our goal to continuously raise our efficiency in order handling at the fair grounds and to be eco-friendly at the same time," explains Jörn Schneemann, director of the fair department at Kühne + Nagel KN Expo Service.
"The RX 70 hybrid from Still has passed our tests with the best results by far. The fuel consumption per hour was up to 1.2 litres lower than that of the compared models," he adds.
