Anyone ever replaced a Filter Card of Raymond OPC Wire Guidance system?
Trying to solve a problem that has occurred several times in the past 18 months.
I am the 3rd tech to diagnose this problem.
The system will randomly "lose wire" unexpectedly. Guidance seems to work fine approximately 2-3 months, then suddenly malfunctions.
The voltage tests that I performed tell me that the Filter Card is bad.

Hey, LaGrange. If you are referring to the post from 2015, we final convinced them their 15 year old batteries were the issue and sold them new ones several years ago.
Read your post just a a few minutes ago.

I know that this is awful late, but I have an idea regarding your nuisance problem.
You stated that a fully charged battery greatly decreases the frequency of the problem that you are dealing with.
In your situation, the battery in the OPC might be THE problem.
If the battery in question is more than 4 years old, then the available Amp Hours & Volts @ 30% SOC is not good enough for the OPC to continue working reliably.
A fully reconditioned battery or a Brand New battery just might solve the problem, once and for all.
We have seen this issue several times. How is the condition of the battery? I would test the state of charge while lifting at the time of issue. Do not rely on the BDI. In 25 years I think I have only replaced one filter card. It is usually something else.
Hello, Have you fix your problem? I found some issues with antenna cables that connect from logic card to antennas. Cheers.
Everyone,
Forgot to update the status of OPC and Wire Guidance problem.
The last time that I made a repair to the Guidance system was August 2016.
Followed diagnostic steps outlined in the appropriate service manual for the specific serial number.
June 2016: Performed several volts tests, according to service manual diagnostics for error code 92. Determined that Filter Card is defective. Replaced card and allowed system to "Learn" offset and frequency.
This repair made a difference for approximately 2 months.
A different error code occurred in August.
August 2016: Once again, performed volts tests according to service manual. Determined that the Drive Unit Antenna Card was defective. Installed new card and allowed system to "Learn" offset and frequency.
Guidance has been working well, until this week.
Have to return to jobsite on Monday.
I know that is probably part of their issue. We have the setting at 30 i believe, may have even put it to 50 now. Every item in the truck has been swapped out. We even put new sensor harnesses in Friday. They don't have assigned batteries, so there's no telling which is causing the most issue. And they are to cheep to replace their 13 year old, yes 13 year old, batteries. The last battery in it read 70% charged when they claimed to have issue. It was at 24.7 volts dropping to 23.2 while traveling.
What is the BSOC set at? OPC's are very sensitive to low batteries.
We end up raising the BSOC to 30 or even 40 %
If still at Default 20%, there will be all king of issues.
maybe TEST the battery when low, (best time) as it may be dropping too low one one cell
What kind of issue did you have that needed the cable replaced? I have one that very randomly has an issue, I have yet to see my self. I have been fighting it every couple months now for several years. Keeping a well charged battery has greatly helped. But when it goes below 30% it will " come off the wire" so they say.
I have replaced many filter cards. also steer cards, antenna cards but mostly the shielded cables from the antenna cards to the steer card.
Are you 100% sure the issue is with the truck?
I have had a intermittent faulty line driver before but that fault showed on all my fleet of guided trucks when it occurred.
