I know that this is awful late, but I have an idea regarding your nuisance problem.

You stated that a fully charged battery greatly decreases the frequency of the problem that you are dealing with.
In your situation, the battery in the OPC might be THE problem.

If the battery in question is more than 4 years old, then the available Amp Hours & Volts @ 30% SOC is not good enough for the OPC to continue working reliably.
A fully reconditioned battery or a Brand New battery just might solve the problem, once and for all.
