Discussion:
Steer wheel spins arounf, never stops

The steer wheel spins continously, unit will drive but as soon as you stop the wheel just continues to spin around. Seems like it can not find home position. Happens as soon as you power up machine. Any ideas?

Thanks. I did recal acceleration, got C016 to go away. Still have issue with the wheel continously spinning. Don't think I have much of a choice but to replace the A5 card.
Thanks again

A5 is the main controller under the drivers arm rest.
I would recal the accel pot first as error C016 refers to this. The A5 controller is expensive from Toyota/BT. TVH do recon controllers as service exchange units.

Thank you. I don't see anything in manual marked as a A5 card. Can you explain where this card is located?

C016 is a calibration error for accelerator pedal. Re calibrate, you will need the can key for this.

After playing with thus some more I was able to get the wheel to stop by unplugging tach. Replaced tach. Unit was operational for about 5 minutes. Now it through a code c016 and wheel is back to spinning again all the time until I unplug tach. I checked for debris under acceleration pedal, clean. Parking brake stays on all the time. I am hoping that the new tach is not now bad. Any ideas?

Disconnected tach, wheels keeps spinning. Disconnect X24 and it stops until I hook it back up. Disconnecting at controller, both controllers, did absolutely nothing. This all started when I replaced horn button.

Disconnect the plug to tacho for the steering. It is mounted directly under the steering wheel. The tacho sends a signal to the main controller once the steering wheel rotates. Maybe the tacho is sending a signal even when the steering wheel is stationary.
If problem persists disconnect steering output circuit at main controller. If steering stops then the fault is probably in the controller.
