1993 Clark C500S100 parking brake how to remove drum

Can't really tell from the blurry shop manual I have, it looks like there is a center bolt on the parking brake drum that has to come off and then the drum would come out along with the shaft it attaches to, or are the multiple smaller bolts supposed to be removed - if so does the shaft remain in place? Also if the shaft has to come out does the transmission need to be drained first?

Do you mean the drum comes off the flanged shaft, thus exposing the brake shoes, without needing to remove the flanged shaft? (Meaning take out the four bolts and the drum comes off leaving the shaft in place)

If it was assembled correctly the drum is on the back side of the flange on the shaft. Pretty sure you will have to remove the shaft. There is an o ring on that shaft that goes in first and seals the center of the shaft on the flange.

Thanks, the brake drum moves easily so it should come off, I just wasn't able to tell if removing those bolts would allow the drum to come off without the shaft, I don't want to remove the shaft if I can avoid it.

What l remember is try removing the small bolts first and see if the drum comes off because if you remove the big nut the oil to trans will come out and then you should replace the seal inside but sometimes the shaft is in the way to install the break shoes and springs hope l was of help.
