12 volts to coil

I have a hyster s40xm with the Chevy 2.3. It will crank or turn over but will not start I am not getting power to my coil. all the fuses are good the switch as power going to coil. all the wiring is in good shape.Now for the kicker i can remove the positive wire from the distributor and bam i get my 12 volts on coil. i have changed the module in the distributor. any have any ideas on what could be the issue?
