Battery/Charge Indicator

Our machine has an analogue battery/charge indicator. When the key is turned to the off position, the pionter in the instrument seems to be driven to the zero stop so hard it sticks past the zero position. It appears as there may be reverse current driving the pionter. Can anyone please help with a fix.

Remove the covers to access the guage & conect your voltmeter to both of the wires when they are removed from the guage.
Then connect your black to Batt neg & read again from reading these voltages you see them fall to 0 vlts when the key is turned off-if this happens change your guage if not write again with your results.
