EnerSys launches industry first
Reading, PA, United StatesEnerSys has launched what it says is the materials handling industry's first online calculator that enables customers to compare the monthly costs of liquid propane fuel compared to electricity, using leased forklifts, batteries and chargers.
The calculator informs users on the cost of converting forklift fleets to electric power.
"We're busting the myth that electric forklifts cost more upfront due to the cost of the battery and charger," says manager Mark Tomaszewski. "The reality is customers can lease batteries and chargers, paying for them as a monthly expense just as they would pay for propane fuel."
According to EnerSys, other online calculators have fixed fields that assume upfront capital costs for the electric forklift, battery and charger while the EnerSys Convert to ElectricSM calculator is the first tool that incorporates the cost of leasing the forklifts, batteries and chargers.
