JCB introduces telehandler at IFAT 2014
Rocester, United KingdomJCB will unveil the 560-80 Wastemaster at IFAT 2014, a trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, held at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre on 5-9 May.
The 560-80 Wastemaster is a heavy-duty machine with a 6 T maximum lifting capacity. It has been designed as a telehandler with wheeled loader performance and can lift to a maximum height of 8.1 m (26.6 ft.).
Its two-stage boom carries a heavy-duty implement carriage, with a broader boom nose. According to JCB, the boom is equipped with a Z-bar linkage, similar to a wheeled loader, "delivering robust digging ability and breakout forces as high as 6,800kgf (15,000lbf) when used with a bucket". The telehandler offers a 1,750 kg (3,858 lb.) load capacity at full forward reach.
STILL redesigns reach truck
Hamburg, GermanySTILL GmbH boasts that its completely redesigned FM-X model series with load capacities of 1.-2.5 T has "outstanding cost-effectiveness, and advanced technology and ergonomics". With its compact dimensions, the reach truck is suitable for working in both a block warehouse and in a shelf aisle, for goods provision and disposal or for transport over long distances, including combined indoor and outdoor use.
The FM-X can lift loads of up to 1.0T to a maximum lift height of 13 m (42.6 ft.).
The range has a total of six different load capacity classes - from 1-2.5 T. All the trucks except the 2.5 T model are also available in a narrow version for use in a block-type warehouse or drive-in rack.
Hyundai unveils new diesel forklifts
Geel, BelgiumHyundai Heavy Industries has introduced 12 small and medium models of the 9-series diesel forklift range with lift capacities from 2.2-5 T.
The forklift enables operators to safely load and unload goods with a monitor that displays the weight of goods, the slope of all directions, and the angle between the ground surface and the mast in real-time. Other features in the new models include high-visibility LED lamps and rear cameras installed to prevent rear-end collisions, the OPSS (Operator Presence Sensing System) to prevent unforeseen accidents by automatically activating brakes when operators leave the operating cabin, and a diagnostic system that helps operators monitor conditions and the replacement period of the forklift's expendables.
According to HHI, the 9-series diesel forklifts have recorded an average annual sales growth of 30% since 2009. The forklift also won the Red Dot Design Award 2012.
Hyster trucks for bulky loads
Frimley, United KingdomHyster has launched four 16-18 T forklifts that it says are designed to save fuel in heavy steel, concrete and pipe handling operations.
Chris van de Werdt, sales manager for big trucks for Northern Europe, says 16-18 T loads tend to be bulky and often don't fit on standard pallets. "Attachments, live loads and extremely wide loads may be common at these capacities."
For 16 T operations, the H16XM-12 provides full-rated capacity at a 1,200 mm (47 in.) load centre while the H16XM-9 offers a 900 mm (35 in.) load centre. Hyster has launched the new H18XM-7.5 and H18XM-9 for heavier 18T applications.
Hyster claims the trucks will result in up to 20% fuel savings for customers.
The engine complies with the latest Stage Tier 4i / Stage IIIB legislation without either a DEF (AdBlue) or a diesel particle filter.
