MakuSafe is partnering with JLT ComputersJLT Computers and MakuSafe announce partnership
Växjö, Sweden
Swedish-headquartered rugged mobile computing solutions provider JLT Computers, has announced a new strategic partnership with US-based workforce wearables designer and manufacturer MakuSafe.
The collaboration between the two will work to develop and deliver an integrated solution JLT says will enhance worker safety, improve efficiency and accelerate “digital transformation”.
This integrated solution is expected to see JLT’s ruggedised mobile computers installed directly on equipment such as forklifts, working in tandem with MakuSafe’s wearable technology and its Scout forklift safety application.
“This integration provides operators with vital real-time visibility into pedestrian proximity, significantly helping to reduce hazardous forklift-pedestrian interactions,” JLT states.
“This type of risk remains a serious hazard in warehouses, distribution centres, and manufacturing facilities where forklift drivers often have difficulty seeing pedestrians.
“Early adopters leveraging the combined technologies have already reported substantial reductions in these interactions over short timeframes, alongside measurable gains in productivity linked to improved situational awareness and risk mitigation.”

Some JCB apprentices with show some of this year's donations
UK Equipment manufacturer JCB has held its annual Christmas Toy Appeal receiving a record number of gifts from staff.
The total number of donations this year reached 1,787 gifts, a small increase on last year’s 1,700 presents - which is no small feat, with the bulk of these gifts handed over to Stoke-on-Trent charity the Hubb Foundation for distribution to families in the greatest need.
Hubb Foundation operations manager, Tom Beecham, says: “JCB’s Christmas Toy Appeal means so much to us as a charity and it means so much to the children and families we work with in Stoke-on-Trent”.
“Christmas is a challenging time of year, so to bring some happiness and positivity to children at this time of year is wonderful. We can’t thank JCB and all the employees enough for their ongoing generosity.”
Since the appeal’s launch in 2022, employees have donated almost 6,000 gifts for distribution to children and young people.
