Genma Solutions delivers 10 RTGs to East AfricaChinese materials handling equipment manufacturer Genma Solutions recently reported the delivery of 10, 45T hybrid rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, which had been tailor-made for an unnamed East African customer.
Genma says each of the RTGs underwent 32-hour endurance tests before being shipped and all were delivered in batches “within just one month”.
The RTGs were assembled on site and quickly operational.
Meanwhile, multinational steel and mining company ArcelorMittal, has ordered 12 medium forklifts from Kalmar, two of which have second generation lithium-ion battery technology.
Kalmar reports the order was booked Q3 2025 with the forklifts scheduled to be delivered during Q1 2026.
No other details about the forklifts were released.
Both ArcelorMittal and Kalmar say the addition of the new forklifts with Li-ion battery power will support the steelmakers ambitions to produce smarter steels using lower carbon emissions.
“Sustainability and efficiency are at the heart of ArcelorMittal’s operations,” says Thoralf Winkel, CEO ArcelorMittal Hamburg.
“Kalmar’s proven forklift solutions and their new Li-ion technology align perfectly with our goals to reduce carbon emissions and enhance performance in our steelmaking facilities.”
