JLG has expanded Jefferson City production capability

JLG Industries is ramping up its telehandler manufacturing capability at its 500,000 sqft. (46,451 sqm) facility in Jefferson City, Tennessee.

The expansion will allow JLG Industries, a subsidiary of New York Stock Exchange-listed Oshkosh, to increase production of its SkyTrak telehandler line as it continues to target growth in the agricultural sector.

Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and JLG Industries president Frank Nerenhausen says: “We will invest approximately USD120 million in our Tennessee facility over the next two years to increase SkyTrak manufacturing by at least 50%.”

The upgrade of the Tennessee plant includes incorporating Industry 4.0 manufacturing technology. “Our investments will not only boost capacity to meet the rapidly rising demand for our products in a relatively short amount of time but also automates the way we fabricate and build JLG equipment,” Nerenhausen adds.

JLG is also boosting production capacity at its Leon, Mexico, and Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, facilities.

As well as SkyTrak telehandlers, JLG makes arial work platforms and rotary telehandlers.
