CVS has just produced the latest generation of a family of forklifts to satisfy new requirements and to offer high quality. The family is made up of the F10, F12, F16, F18 models that now enlarge the range of its products and shows the improvements it has achieved in new technology:

- CANBUS: the same advanced canbus system supplied on reach stacker Ferrari 300 has been adopted on forklifts too.

- LOAD SENSING DISTRIBUTOR: the same innovative hydraulic system of reach stacker Ferrari 300 has been adopted on forklifts too. The distributor can be controlled by either proportional levers or by a joystick, having proportional control too.

- OVERLOADING and OVERTIPPING SAFETY DEVICE has been adopted as standard.
The HEAD control unit (3B6) controls N.4 pressure transducers:
one transducer controls the weight by detecting the pressure in both lifting cylinders; the other three transducers are installed on the tilting cylinders to control the pressure for the load moment indicator (LMI). Two of them are detecting the pressure on the two chambers of the cylinders that push forward and one is detecting the pressure on the opposite chamber to calculate the difference of the two pressures. The first transducer allows the machine to pick up a load until it reaches 15% of the nominal capacity. Over this limit the system stops the lifting. If the loading condition does not exceed the nominal load by more than 15% the tilting is allowed until you reach the over tipping condition. During normal operations the control unit executes the calculation of the over tipping moment with a maximum tolerance of 4% (on the calculated value). In any case this value is at least 1.33 times less than the real over tipping moment on the rear axle of the machine.

In real time the display of the machine (Can cockpit) shows the value (% LMI indicator) and alerts the driver if the percentage (LMI) exceeds the 90%. During a safety stop the machine does not allow lifting and tilt FWD. There is also a safety control on each pressure transducer. The system described is conformed to the EEC laws on the relevant subject (98/37 CE European Economic Community). The choice of including this system as standard on last generation forklifts is oriented to guarantee the maximum operator safety.

Moreover, these last generation forklifts have been improved as far as:

- CABIN: Cabin structure in steel meeting FOPS and ROPS

- VISIBILITY: new forklifts respond to the requirements of the standard ISO 13564 for visibility

- DRIVER ERGONOMICS: in the cabin there is a single display unit that permits to collect all the information about the machine operative life on a single interactive display. Eliminating all the gauges around the dashboard, the operator can therefore concentrate only on one point.

- ENVIRONMENT POLICY: CVS Ferrari has always put a great effort in developing environment friendly trucks, but never like nowadays, CVS is going to further increase this policy:
- last generation engine are complying with the directive 98/67/CE tier 2 that regulates exhaust gas emission for non road mobile machinery and have a closed crankcase ventilation system to further reduce engine oil leakage to ambient
- for all hydraulic systems CVS uses high pressure sealings and tough testing standards will ensure a high reliability of all connections, CVS will not accept oil leakage from any connection
- to strongly reduce noise emissions, we are considering new sound absorbing materials

FERRARI EMPTY CONTAINER HANDLERS

CVS Ferrari offers a range of empty container handlers that includes both reach stackers and forklifts. The empty container handlers are manufactured with the same attention to quality and innovation that can be find in the last generations of CVS Ferrari products. The long experience indeed has had great result also on these types of machines that are unique as far as their characteristics and performances.

Here the main models offered by CVS Ferrari:

FORKLIFT (with the mast)
- F 18 EC
it includes the state of the art of Ferrari technology:
* Piston pumps and load sensing distributor
* Proportional levers or multifunctional joystick
* Full CANBUS integrated management
* Lifting capacity under spreader up to 6 high 8'6''

- F EC 08
outstanding fork lift truck for empty container handling providing stability and performances at top market level:
* Lifting capacity under spreader up to 9 tons
Stacking up to 8 high + 1
* Telescopic side spreader 20'-40' single or double lift
EC 08 offers its best performances in narrow terminals, end on stacking, fork handling,
Double stacking

REACH STACKER (with the boom)
- F248.6 / DS
perfect mix of a reach stacker and a forklift truck because it offers both the better stability, the high travelling speed, the lower consumption and maintenance cost of the first and the faster and easier container handling by side spreader of the second.
* Lifting capacity under spreader 10 tons
Stacking up to 6 high + 1 with double stacking spreader
* Telescopic side spreader 20'-40' with ± 10° rotation
F248 offers its best performances in block stacking, container shuffling, high speed operation, double stacking

- F258.6
classical reach stacker dedicated to empty container handling offers maximum flexibility and productivity in port operation
* Lifting capacity under spreader 12 tons
Stacking up to 6 high
* Telescopic top spreader 20'-40' with -95° +195° rotation
F258.6 offers its best performances in flat racks and platform handling, washing and inspection stations, indoor handling

As for empty container handlers CVS Ferrari has had one of the biggest order registered. Metrans (Czech Republic) purchased 10 units of reachstacker Ferrari model F248 DS. This machine is equipped with side telescopic spreader able to handle two 20'-40' ISO containers ( one over the other ) up to 6 +1 high x 8'6". It is supplied with VOLVO TAD 720 VE engine (174 Kw) and DANA-Spicer Clark 32412 transmission, Rexroth load-sensing hydraulic system and extra wide front axle from German company Kessler. The confidence given by Metrans to this machine, which they first bought in year 2000, is a confirmation of this innovative technology unique to CVSF. It is for sure the fastest and most efficient empty container handler on the market.

Fact of the week
The use of "hello" as a telephone greeting is attributed to Thomas Edison. He is said to have suggested it as a simpler alternative to other greetings, such as "Do I get you?" or "Are you there?".
