Botanical products manufacturer Inovia International has turned to the Doosan brand for assistance in handling its fast-moving products.
Inovia wanted forklifts that can move a broad range of product containers between storage areas and delivery vehicles effectively and efficiently.
Paul Ager, Inovia's operations manager, says: "We were already converts to the Doosan brand. Our existing Doosan forklifts have proved themselves true assets to the business."
Since establishing in 2004, Inovia says it has grown into a market leader with the backing of parent company the Stan Chem International Ltd. Its products are used in the toiletries, cosmetics and personal care sectors.
Because the company's stock rotates quickly, good materials handling is vital to its operations. Inovia's products are supplied in a wide range of packaging, from bags and boxes to barrels, pallets and intermediate bulk containers.
Trevor Griffith from Genesis Forklifts suggested the Doosan BR14JW-7 reach truck, which has switchable 180° and 360° steering.
"By simply pushing a button, the operator can select 180° or 360° steering to accommodate all operating conditions," Griffith says. "This is particularly important when operating in tight spaces, and thus was ideal for a warehouse environment like Inovia's."
Ager adds that the truck's integral sideshift enables Inovia's team to "handle barrels more easily, placing them more precisely in storage cradles and dramatically reducing damage to both racking and our high quality ingredient products".
Inovia's existing forklift fleet comprised two Mitsubishi SBP16N stackers, one Doosan D25S diesel counterbalance truck and one Doosan B18T electric counterbalance truck.
The new Doosan reach truck replaced one of the Mitsubishi stackers and the D25S, B18T and SBPN16 trucks remain on site on contract hire.
