UKWA guests dig deep for Transaid
London, United Kingdom

Guests at this year's UKWA Annual Lunch and Awards for Warehousing, which was held recently at London's Dorchester Hotel, raised over GBP9,000 (USD11,800) for Transaid, the international development charity.
Thanking the UKWA members for their generosity, Transaid's CEO Gary Forster described how over 6,000 African drivers had been trained by Transaid and the implementation of more efficient supply chain management systems had seen the amount of wasted essential medicines and supplies drop significantly across the African continent.
UKWA adopted Transaid as its official charity in 2013. The association's chief executive, Peter Ward, says: "Transaid has done - and continues to do - an excellent job in building local skills and knowledge to make transport safer, cheaper, cleaner and more effective, ensuring better access to the essentials for everyday life across Africa."

30 year celebration for Hitec
Northamptonshire, United Kingdom

Cesab dealership Hitec Lift Trucks this year celebrates 30 years in business.
With major contract wins, quality accreditations and a move to impressive new offices among recent milestones, Hitec, which employs 23 people at its Wellingborough base, has seen huge growth since its launch in 1986.
Hitec director Prospero Girardi says being a Cesab dealership is a key factor:
"Joining the Cesab network has enabled us to guarantee high quality product and service and the ability to work with other Cesab dealers to support customers up and down the country. Businesses with their head office in our area can partner with us, knowing that maintenance, repairs and servicing are available wherever they need it.
"It's amazing to look back 30 years and see where we have come," he adds. "Inevitably, the last 30 years have been a roller-coaster at times, but we've come through every challenge, are now stronger than ever and can't wait to see what the next few years bring."
