Trelleborg technology wins award
Trelleborg, SwedenTrelleborg's ProgressiveTraction technology has won the Best New Product or Innovation award in the environmental category at the LAMMA Innovation Awards.
The tyre, which was showcased at the LAMMA 2015 exhibition held at the East of England showground in Peterborough, UK, was specifically developed to boost efficiency and performance. Operating on soil, the tyre's double lug progressively releases higher traction when required.
According to the company, the double lug also provides the tyre with "superior floatation capability, ensuring an even pressure distribution over the extra wide footprint, boosting the yield of crops while preserving soil from compaction and erosion".
Sponsored by the Institute of Agricultural Engineers, the award recognises outstanding contributions to agricultural engineering and the associated industries.
H2 Logic and gas companies partner
Herning, Denmark Danish energy and gas suppliers OK Amba and Strandmøllen A/S have agreed to establish up to five hydrogen fuelling stations in collaboration with H2 Logic A/S, which manufactures hydrogen fuelling stations.
This will expand the existing Danish network to 11 stations in 2016, covering the major cities.
The hydrogen stations will be operated by a joint-venture company, Danish Hydrogen Fuel A/S (DHF). The DHF locations will ensure that 50% of the Danish population will not be further than 15 km from the nearest hydrogen fuelling station. From 2050, Denmark plans to achieve 100% fossil independence across all energy sectors including the transport sector.
