Impact Handling joins Transaid
Nottingham, United Kingdom

Impact Handling is helping boost forklift safety and efficiency in Africa, after becoming the first materials handling company to sign up as a corporate member of international development charity Transaid. The sole distributor for Cat Lift Trucks in the UK and Ireland joins 22 transport and logistics industry members in supporting Transaid. It will initially be focusing on supporting Transaid's professional driver training project in Zambia.
Impact Handling's support will include an annual financial donation, help with Transaid fundraising activities and a two-week secondment of staff members to deliver vital training in Zambia this summer.
Managing director Terry Kendrew says: "Materials handling equipment is essential to supporting the safe and efficient growth of trade in Africa, but too often operators jump onto machines without carrying out essential operational checks.
"We want to help Transaid address this issue by training instructors in the simple, but essential, inspections which should be carried out before using a forklift."

Daifuku changes name and logo
Farmington Hills, MI, United States

Materials handling solutions provider Daifuku Webb Holding Company has changed its name to Daifuku North America Holding Company and will begin using the iconic Daifuku logo in 2015.
Incorporating the Daifuku logo better aligns Daifuku North America with other Daifuku entities across the globe. Daifuku North America oversees Daifuku America Corporation, Jervis B Webb Company, Wynright and Elite Line Services.
Transitioning to the new brand is designed to add value to customers, according to Daifuku North America Holding Company CEO Brian Stewart.
"The newly aligned Daifuku North America will enable us to provide an efficient and fully integrated range of products and services, and better access to the global resources and expertise of the Daifuku Group," Stewart says.
While Daifuku North America will serve as the unifying brand umbrella, each company will continue to maintain its own name, customer base and product lines.
