Cargotec plans Hudiksvall restructure
Hudiksvall, SwedenCargotec wants to adjust and restructure its operations in Hudiksvall, Sweden to boost profitability and respond to global market conditions.
The company says it needs to adjust its production capacity in the short term due to declining demand and the uncertainty of the European load handling market.
Its plans include transferring production of smaller load cranes from Hudiksvall to its unit in Stargard, Poland.
However, Cargotec plans to continue producing a part of the loader cranes product range, as well recycling and forestry cranes in Hudiksvall. About 150 employees at the site could lose their jobs.
Hy-Tek receives Hytrol award

The company was recognised for 50 years of service at the Columbus office and 10 years of service at the Cleveland office, in Ohio.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary in January 2013, Hy-Tek is one of Hytrol's oldest integration partners.
Toyota automated system wins design gold
Tokyo, JapanToyota Industries Corp has announced that its automated guided container transport system has been selected for the 2012 Good Design Gold, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Award.
The jurors commented that the system is a "perfect example of fusing the design of a physical object with the design of a social system" and "is the target of great expectations as the leader for new maritime industry strategies in Japan".
This system consists of an AGV that transports containers between piers and storage yards at container terminals, and of the software that controls vehicle allocation operations.
Konecranes remote services boost crane safety

The information enables customers to plan future maintenance actions and also observe potential safety issues.
