Exhibition wins gold twice
Rocester, United KingdomJCB's GBP5million (USD8 million) customer attraction, 'The Story of JCB', has won two prestigious awards for design excellence.
The 2,500 sqm exhibition that opened last year at the Rocester headquarters won a gold award at Manchester's Roses Creative Awards for the Exhibition/Point of Sale category. The exhibition, which takes visitors on a journey through time of the company's evolution, also won gold in the Scottish Design Awards in the same category.
JCB's internal design and advertising agency, JCB DesignWorks, led the project to create the exhibition and teamed up with Edinburgh-based agency Studio MB to deliver the end result.
Bendi innovation honoured
Redditch, United KingdomBendi has walked away with the Innovation Award at ASDA's annual Store Proposition award ceremony for its mini Bendi, which saves warehouse space.
Over 400 guests attended the annual ceremony held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. The guests were mainly from the construction industry as the awards recognised outstanding achievement in cutting construction costs, and innovation that assists ASDA in building its stores and meeting environmental obligations.
ID firm priorities R&D
Bologna, Italy Datalogic SpA, a leading automatic identification solutions firm, invested over EUR26 million in research and development in 2011.
The group credits its success to "the consolidation of existing markets, expansion in emerging ones, efficiency, product innovation and research and development" as it marks 40 years in business this year. The company has over 1,000 partners worldwide and boasts longstanding relationships with major global retailers, couriers and car manufacturers, as well as logistics and transportation firms.
Datalogic operates in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific, and has a direct presence in 30 countries.
TVH distributes Chinese brand
Waregem, BelgiumThe TVH Group has been appointed the authorised aftermarket distributor of Xinchai combustion engines and spare parts for forklifts and agricultural machines.
This means that the Belgian company, through its network of branches in Europe, the Middle and Far East, Africa, North, South and Central America, Australia and New Zealand, will be responsible for distributing genuine spare parts for Xinchai engines worldwide.
Bac2 lands Materials Award
Southampton, United KingdomBac2, the polymer materials company, has won the materials category of the Composites UK Innovation Awards 2012.
The awards celebrating innovations in composite materials, design and manufacturing, will be presented on 7 November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the NEC complex in Birmingham.
