JCB celebrates production milestone
Rocester, United KingdomJCB has celebrated a manufacturing milestone with the production of its 200,000th JCB Dieselmax engine.
The milestone was achieved with the production of 170,000 engines at JCB Power Systems in the UK, and 30,000 in India where manufacturing started in April 2011. The first JCB engine rolled off the line in November 2004 at JCB Power Systems in Foston, Derbyshire.
TMHE customers conduct tests
Mjölby, SwedenToyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) is conducting field tests to prove the effiociency of its Li-ion forklifts in the distribution centres of Sainsbury's in the UK, and Ahold in the Netherlands.
Powered pallet trucks used in multiple shifts are included in the trial, which aims to evaluate the machines' energy consumption and productivity.
The two retailers are long-term customers of the forklift supplier. TMHE anticipates launching its Li-ion forklift range in the first half of 2013.
Deutsche Messe grows sales network
Hannover, GermanyCeMAT organiser Deutsche Messe is expanding its global sales network and now has representation in the sub-Saharan African region.
"fairpros" now represents the German company in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Sudan, South Sudan, Benin, Togo, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, The Gambia and Gabon.
For the remaining sub-Saharan countries, the German Chamber of Industry and Trade is responsible for representation, and the North African Chamber of Industry and Trade holds responsibility for North Africa.
Deutsche Messe has also acquired the majority stake in Mannheim-based trade fair organiser 'spring'.
RG Group acquires fluid distribution business
Maple Shade, NJ, United StatesForklift dealer Eastern Lift Truck Co of Maple Shade sold its Eastern Hydraulic Solutions division to the RG Group's Van-Air division on 23 July. Terms were not disclosed.
Eastern Hydraulic Solutions is a full-service pneumatic and hydraulic fluid distributor, providing customised services including kitting, component integration and design, and serving the New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania markets.
"Our industry continues to consolidate, affording us great opportunities to aggressively grow our business," says Randall Gross, chief executive officer of York, Pennsylvania-based RG Group. "This opportunity is a great fit as a bolt-on to our Van-Air division."
RG Group plans to house and operate Eastern Hydraulic Solutions from the Van-Air unit's Maple Shade location.
Founded in 1971, Eastern Lift Truck employs about 500 staff, has 11 locations in six mid-Atlantic states and, in various facilities, represents Yale, Combilift, Load Lifter and Manitou forklifts; JLG and Genie booms, scissors lifts, vertical lifts and telescopic lifts; and Motrec and Taylor-Dunn personnel vehicles.
