Hi, this lift has a GM with Spectrum fuel system. It runs good but the exhaust smells very bad, I suspect it's unburnt fuel. I thought it would be the vaporizer but this didn't help. Any ideas on what else may cause this. Thanks

Well as of now it looks like it was the fuel, I put a tank on it filled from a different source and the smell went away. I know it sounds crazy but I think their tank got really low and they filled lift up and it picked oil up out of the bottom of their big tank.

I'm pretty sure it has just a muffler, it looks the same as some I've changed before. Most of the time if it has a cat there is also a muffler right after. I'm gonna bring a tank from home and try a different fuel source and if that doesn't change it I'll try a tune up again just to be sure. Tune ups fairly cheap. I did look at the plugs and they look good, but the gap did look a little big(46 th) I'm not sure what it should be. Thanks for your help and I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

If it has a catalytic converter it will have a O2 sensor in the exhaust. It will also have a ECU.

Parts book shows a cat converter for this but it looks exactly like a muffler to me. Usually there's a muffler and a cat right? This ones not stopped up, if they act like one on a car when it starts smelling like rotten eggs and exhaust stops up

Electric lock off, I'm really starting to think it's the fuel. It smells almost the exact same as the exhaust

The converter will change the smell of the exhaust. Does this truck have the vacuum lockoff? Check to make sure propane is not coming through the vacuum line.

I had an extra one so I just replaced it. I did a tune up less than 2 months ago. I did notice that the propane itself has a funny smell, I'm wondering if that could be it. They have a Toyota lift here also that doesn't smell but with the different vaporizer and a catalytic converter it may not smell.

I would start with a basic tune-up if you haven't done one yet. Have you drained the regulator recently?

Sorry I didn't specify in my original post but it has the 3.0 in it if that makes any difference

Operator said that it lopes like it has a cam sometimes. I've run into that on the Mazda when the injector goes bad but never on the spectrum
