India's TIL Limited to launch rough-terrain empty container handlerIndian materials handling equipment manufacturer TIL Limited, will launch three new materials handling products, including a rough-terrain empty container handler, at the Excon construction sector trade show held in India in December.
The Kolkata-based company says the empty container handler has been designed specifically for Indian conditions and is “capable of operating effectively on rough and unpaved surfaces that are common for logistics yards, and industrial sites in India, which many imported models are ill-equipped to handle”.
TIL says there is currently no rough-terrain empty container handler produced by any manufacturers in India and the new equipment “carries import potential in terrain-challenged markets abroad”.
At Excon, TIL will also launch a fully patented pick-and-carry-on-deck crane with a 15T pick-and-carry capacity at a 2.5m radius and an 85T capacity truck-crane with the aim of regaining leadership in a segment where the company once achieved 70–80% share.
“Collectively, these launches signal the start of a broad product-expansion strategy, positioning TIL firmly as an engineering-solutions provider with equipment tailored to real-world customer needs and job-site environments,” the company states.
TIL was founded in Kolkata in 1944 and its product portfolio spans four categories - the TIL Range, Manitowoc Cranes, Hyster-TIL Range, and Snorkel aerial work platforms and telehandlers.
