Discussion:
Transmission fluid & model year id

Older Clark, C500 y50.
Sat for years and im bring back to life.
Shortly after i got it running / moving it around it blew one of the crunchy lines
Pulled the 3 hyd lines going in and out of radiator to trans and filter housing to have made up.
Now need to figure out what fluid was in it... was dirty / black but feels like atf. Unsure.
Trans has the 2 lever on left side dash H/L F/R

Serial number
Y355-463-2530 471

If anyone could point me to proper fluid for this and possibly the model year of this thing.
Thanks

Thank you John , But I found the year out yesterday afternoon..
April - 1971..supposed
If you have the part numbers for manuals for this unit or a place to go for them , that would be great.
Thanks again

Most Clarks used Dextron 2 in trans
Up to the newer units
Clark dealers sell a trans fluid that is compatible to all of their units old to new

Fact of the week
In 1923, French tennis player René Lacoste was promised a crocodile leather suitcase by his captain if he won his next match. He lost the match but won the nickname "the crocodile" which he had sown onto his tennis attire. Ten years later he launched the first polo shirt and Lacoste, the first brand to feature a logo on its clothing.
